Tara has been a small business owner herself since 2000, a Breakthrough Coach since 2010, and a fully trained Accredited Small Business Consultant®. Since 2017, she's been teaching small business owners how to break through bottlenecks and apply simple, practical, proven strategies to create more freedom and bigger wins.
Whether you're burning out, struggling with Impostor Syndrome, or doing all the things but can't figure out why they're not working, Tara wants you to know something important:
You are cut out for this. It can get better. And you're in the right place.
The Story Behind the Work
Tara started her entrepreneurial journey with all the cards stacked against her. As a high school dropout, teen mom, recently out of an abusive relationship, with a history of drug abuse, major depression, and a welfare check to her name, she had no idea what she was doing.
I remember being so nervous to call about my business license, certain they'd see I was a fraud, that I spent 20 minutes practicing how to sound like my mom on the phone.
But there was no other option in her mind. She needed to pay the bills, and she knew she would never be happy with someone else's goals dictating her freedom.
So she set out to figure it out, and for a few years, she did okay.
I had no idea that to really grow a business meant investing massively in growing yourself: your beliefs, your skills in every area of business, and all those softer skills we so artfully ignore, like self-care, communication, decision-making, leadership, and time management.
About eight years into her first business - a mobile massage practice with a team of 5 - Tara hit her breaking point.
She was sitting with her husband Justin on their bed one night, crying that she just could not do it anymore. The mom guilt, the endless comparison game, the never-ending to-do list, the 16-hour days that never seemed to move anything forward, the self-doubt that ran on a constant loop. Her health was suffering from the burnout in ways she is still healing from today.
She said the words most entrepreneurs have thought but rarely admit out loud: "Maybe I'm just not cut out for this."
Her turning point was not a productivity hack or a new marketing funnel. It was the realization that you can do all the right things on paper and still struggle enormously if you have not invested in growing yourself as a business owner. Skills, habits, mindset, and the emotional regulation to stop reacting and start leading.
That turning point is what built her programs.
Not a theory borrowed from someone else's experience, but a system she lived, broke, rebuilt, and refined over two decades until it actually worked for real business owners at every stage of growth and through every economy.
Now she specializes in helping local, service-based business of all kinds, allowing you to tap into different niches, draw on her expertise and diversity, and stop working in an echo chamber of your competitors.
Tara's goal isn't just to grow revenue and profit. It's to grow capable small business CEOs.
What She Knows About You
She knows how it feels to spin all the plates and juggle all the hats you are supposed to be wearing. She knows what it is like to love your family but also need your business to succeed, and to feel guilty no matter which one gets your attention. She knows the resistance toward the next level, and the nagging fear that more success will just mean more stress.
She also knows what it is like to be bombarded with advice to "do more marketing" and "just play bigger" when what you actually want to scream is "but HOW?"
She built her programs to answer exactly that question. Not with fluffy inspiration, but with a real roadmap and practical steps.
And right now, she wants you to remember this:
- You ARE cut out for this.
- There IS a path through it.
- Contrary to what the voice in your head says, you CAN do this.
- But nobody does it alone. Not even the people who look like they did.
